What is salt?
At SALT, we tell stories that matter.
We're a nimble, fun, boutique production powerhouse ready to create bite-sized social media content, commercials, visual mission statements, book trailers, and impression pieces for you and your organization. We love creating sharable, memorable film content that tells your story in a crisp, compelling way, helping get the word out about who you are and how you’re changing the world.
We don’t like to brag, but we’ve won three Emmys, made book trailers for New York Times bestselling authors, gone viral on Facebook (over 31 million views for DIY Easter Eggs), and worked with a wonderfully wide range of non-profit, humanitarian, and corporate clients such as PBS, Target, O Magazine, Oprah Winfrey Network, BabyCenter, etc. Basically, we like to work with anyone doing inspiring and beautiful things.
We believe in amazing stories, bright colors, glitter, kindness, ukuleles, and good conversations - contact us and we’ll start one up today (and, if you'd like to catch a glimpse of a day in the life of SALT, check out the film below).
Meet the Team
Elizabeth Myer Boulton is a storyteller, creative director extraordinaire, and the founder and President of SALT Project. She holds degrees from Trent University and the University of Chicago Divinity School - but her biggest claim to fame is that she's the mama of two incredible kids: Jonah and Margaret!
Matthew Myer Boulton is an author, teacher, filmmaker, and proud papa of Jonah and Margaret. A graduate of Northwestern University, Harvard Divinity School, and the University of Chicago Divinity School, he has served on the faculty of Harvard Divinity School and as president of Christian Theological Seminary.
Gretchen wants to live in a world where kindness is king, turntables replace televisions, and everyone with a good idea finds encouragement. On any given day, you can find Gretchen creating art with her kids, sewing something fabulous, baking oatmeal bread (she kind of has to as a Mennonite), and creating lovely props for SALT.
Brad Hoehner is a Taylor University graduate who enjoys editing, ping pong playing, writing jingles, and strumming the ukulele. When he's not making movie magic on his computer, you can find him training for his yearly half marathon and eating tilapia tacos (without cilantro!).
Hilary loves making the world a little more pretty and a lot more functional through graphic design. She rarely makes the same recipe twice, is addicted to yoga, and can’t stop laying in hammocks. When she’s not sitting at her computer designing and listening to her Lisa Loeb Pandora station, she’s with her three kids, doing mom things like driving them to violin lessons and convincing teachers that homework should be optional.
Andy is the founder of Granola Video. A native Hoosier, he studied video design & production at Indiana University, graduating with a BA in Telecommunications. Through his work behind the camera, Andy strives to create beautiful visuals that tell powerful stories.
